. . . Now, sir, women have not been able to distinguish themselves in the field [of philanthropy] because they did not become religiously entitled for a long time . . . Still, in the old days, when women did not have any large wealth in their own name, Jewish women were partners with their men in all their philanthropic undertakings . . . [Women] have become leaders in charity. And they are now fully paving the way for others. One of the Jewish women who also appears on this field in the vineyard is Syria Rosenblum. Widow of the Pittsburgh billionaire Sal Rosenblum . . . The philanthropic activity of this Jewish woman is spread over many countries and is counted in the millions.
