Shalley Marshall is the Assistant Archivist in the R. Stanton Avery Special Collections department at American Ancestors. She is working to strengthen intellectual and physical access to collections, provide reference support to patrons.
She received a B.S. in Psychology and a B.A. in Russian from Tulane University, and a M.S. in Library and Information Science, with an Archival Management focus, from Simmons University.
Shalley is a member of multiple committees in the American Library Association Rare Books and Manuscripts section: the Controlled Vocabularies Editorial Group (CVEG) and the Bibliographic Standards Committee (BSC), where she is working on the Catalogers Directory and the Descriptive Cataloging of Rare Materials (DCRM) linking project.
