Topic & Presenter Description

Reading Your Results, presented by Pam Holland

Learn how to interpret your predicted results, maximize connections with relatives, and utilize the basic and—enhanced--tools found on the leading testing sites.

Making the Match, presented by Tom Dreyer

You’ve found a match! Learn how to identify the relationship and determine the common ancestor. In many cases, you will need to review several people’s results and even solicit DNA from those unknown to you. Gain important strategies for piecing together these connections and how to find—and approach—key test takers.

Understanding Unexpected Results, presented by Christopher Child

Unexpected DNA results occur somewhat frequently. Before you jump to an incorrect conclusion, learn how to spot these results, determine all of the possible connections, and develop a plan of action.

Getting the Most from Online DNA Tools, presented by Tom Dreyer and Pam Holland

There are a growing number of free and paid online tools available to help you manage your DNA results and increase your potential matches. Learn how to leverage GEDmatch, DNA Painter, and AncesTrees and take your DNA study to the next level.

Testing Your Knowledge: DNA Case Studies, presented by Christopher C. Child

Using a number of case studies, our final session will use real-world examples to show you how to apply what we’ve learned and develop appropriate conclusions.
