The New Hampshire Historical Society's collections include family histories, vital records, church records, cemetery records, diaries, town and county histories, military records, genealogical periodicals, and general genealogical reference material, in addition to a large collection of published and unpublished material related to the history of New Hampshire. Whether you're an experienced genealogist or just starting out, the New Hampshire Historical Society offers a suite of resources to support your research.
Visit the New Hampshire Historical Society's main webpage; learn more about their genealogy collections; and begin searching their catalog. Researchers are encouraged to request materials prior to their visit. As all materials are pulled by staff, requesting materials in advance will maximize your time at the Society. Some material may not be available without advance notification. Contact sgalligan@nhhistory.org with items from the catalog you would like pulled in advance; be sure to mention you are traveling with the American Ancestors group, arriving on Friday, July 22.

*Note: Lockers are available and will be sanitized after each use. Patrons wishing to store their personal items in a locker will be assigned a locker upon their arrival at the Society. No unpacking will be allowed in the library.
Getting to the New Hampshire Historical Society. Metered parking is available on surrounding streets and in downtown Concord's public parking garages.
CONSULTATIONS
- Each participant receives one 30-minute virtual consultation held prior to the program via Zoom
- Dates and times for your consultation slot will be sent to you via email in advance after you complete the interest form below
- Consultation time should be focused on what is submitted in your participant form
- Consultations will be recorded and made available to you afterwards so you can review on your own time
- Our experts will not do research for you, but they will offer helpful tips, guidance, and resources to consider as you continue your research
RESEARCH INTERESTS
You must complete your research interest form by Wednesday, July 6. Consultations are scheduled based on your responses.
OUR EXPERTS
David Allen Lambert, Chief Genealogist has been on the staff of American Ancestors since 1993 and is the organization’s Chief Genealogist. David is an internationally recognized speaker on the topics of genealogy and history. His genealogical expertise includes New England and Atlantic Canadian records of the 17th through 21st century; military records; DNA research; and Native American and African American genealogical research in New England. Lambert has published many articles in the New England Historical and Genealogical Register, the New Hampshire Genealogical Record, Rhode Island Roots, The Mayflower Descendant, and American Ancestorsmagazine. He has also published A Guide to Massachusetts Cemeteries (American Ancestors, 2019). David is an elected Fellow of the Massachusetts Historical Society in Boston, Mass., and a life member of the New Hampshire Society of the Cincinnati. He is also the tribal genealogist for the Massachuset-Punkapoag Indians of Massachusetts.
Melanie McComb, Genealogist assists library visitors, both on-site and online, with their family history research. She also provides lectures on a variety of genealogical topics. Melanie holds a bachelor of science degree from the State University of New York at Oswego. Her areas of research interest include Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Kansas, Prince Edward Island, Québec, and Ireland, and she is experienced in DNA, genealogical technology and social media, Jewish genealogy, and military records.
