A Family Becoming American, Volume 5: McHardy
By David W. Kruger, Foreword by David Allen Lambert
July 2018
Hardcover; 738 pages, illustrated
Bringing to light four families on which there is very little in print, award-winning author David Watson Kruger continues to explore the heritage of four children of two brothers who married two sisters. Kruger’s model work attempts to find and record as many of the descendants of his and his wife’s sixteen sets of great-great-grandparents as possible. This fifth volume in the series treats the paternal ancestry of the author’s wife Jean Lucille MacHardy’s father, Alton Charles MacHardy, tracing McHardy, Montgomery, Trounson, and Williams ancestors from Ireland, England, and Scotland to Quebec and Connecticut. Kruger, in his usual fashion, provides meticulous historical and biographical detail on the individuals and the places in which they lived, and even expands his research to earlier generations before immigration to America.
